Let’s call it the Pedigree: When the question is asked, “who has raced here that I might recognize?” The barrage of answers that come from the loyal fans of 40 plus years is an absolute Who’s who of auto racing. Most notable to the average fan is Ralph Earnhardt and his son Dale Earnhardt Sr. both “cut teeth” on this track in the old days when the old track owners used to say “ them boys would race for hot dogs”. In the recent CMT movie, Dale, it is said the scene where “Dale left with the purse money and was chased” it was at the Cherokee Super Speedway that this event actually took place.
